The Eastern Shore of Maryland is a smorgasbord of local flavors, so much so that we can easily and happily survive on a diet that consists entirely of locally produced food if we were so inclined. At the Combsberry Inn, we try to incorporate local produce as much as possible, and as such, we encourage our guests to do so as well with a trip to our local farmers market during their stay!
The 2016 Market Season for the Easton Farmers Market begins on April 16th, which means our guests (and our staff!) can visit the market every Saturday from April 16 until December 17 from 8am until 1pm. The town of Easton carries a rich history, which includes the deep rooted traditions of the rich farmland and extensive waterways. Those traditions continue today with local farmers and watermen producing a wide variety of farm to table goods. The Easton Farmers Market was created as a place for farmers and vendors to gather to sell their goods, while also providing them with the chance meet with the consumers. Local farmers, bakers, watermen, ranchers, and artisans band together for this terrific community event each week throughout the season, which makes for a festive occasion for all in attendance. In addition to local vendors, the Market also hosts live music by regional and national acts from 10:30am until 12:30pm.
The Easton Farmers Market is held Saturdays (April 16-December 17), as well as on Wednesdays throughout July and August (4pm-7pm) in the parking lot on North Harrison Street next to Easton Market Square. The Market is conveniently located in Downtown Easton, which means you will also be a short walk from the shops and restaurants. Enjoy an afternoon shopping in the local stores, take in the historic sites throughout Downtown Easton, or unwind with lunch or dinner at one of the award-winning local restaurants. Either way you’ll return to the Inn happy, full, and with an abundance of local goods. Welcome spring and all its beautiful bounty!
