Spring has finally sprung! Admittedly, we have a soft spot for the beauty of freshly fallen snow here at the Combsberry Inn, but after a long stretch of cold, blustery months, we are definitely ready for spring. Blooming flowers, warmer weather, sunny afternoon strolls around Oxford…we could go on and on about the many welcome aspects of spring. One thing that we are particularly excited for is the return of some of our favorite Talbot County springtime events! As the cold weather breaks, Talbot County residents and visitors hit the streets, eager to explore the area and enjoy the fantastic lineup of events.

Number one on our radar of course is Oxford Day! This is hands down, one of our favorite events of the year as it takes place in our quaint little town of Oxford, MD. Oxford is just a short drive from the Inn, and provides endless enjoyment for our guests. Oxford Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, so book your room ASAP. We love Oxford Day so much that we have an entire blog post dedicated to the event, so stay tuned!

Spring is practically synonymous with flowers, gardening, and fresh produce, which is why we love getting outdoors to enjoy what our local area has to offer. The Talbot Historical Society Gardens are open and free to the public seven days a week during daylight hours. Located in Downtown Easton, it’s the perfect verdant adventure while enjoying all that Easton has to offer.  And while you’re exploring Easton, there’s also the Amish Country Farmer’s Markets to enjoy! Held every Thursday through Saturday, the Market boasts fresh produce, dairy products, furniture, handcrafted items, and indoor and takeaway dining.

For the foodies out there, we highly recommend signing up for the EatingEaston food tour this spring. Held Fridays and Saturdays, from 11:30am until 2:30pm, the three hour group food tour has become a fast favorite amongst our guests. The tour includes a bite and a sip at a minimum of four restaurants, a visit to a culinary shop, and behind-the-scenes access to Easton’s culinary scene. Art lovers staying at the Inn during the first weekend of the month will fall in love with the First Friday Gallery Walk in downtown Easton. There’s also Sidewalk Saturday, held from 10am until 6pm on the first Saturday of the month.

In nearby St. Michaels, our guests love exploring the town and all that is has to offer, including the terrific springtime events including WineFest, the St. Michaels Running Festival, and the St. Michaels Brewfest. First up on the agenda is the St. Michaels WineFest, which is held during the last weekend of April. The WineFest is a streetscape festival, with hundreds of wines poured and available for purchase. For the beer lover, consider visiting the last Saturday of May for St. Michaels BrewFest. Finally, the St. Michaels Running Festival, which benefits the town of St. Michaels and its local businesses. There are several options for participants – a 1 mile fun walk, a 5K, a 10K, and a half marathon. After the race, enjoy an all-day festival with food, vendors, and live music.

With so many options for spring in Oxford, St. Michaels, and Easton, all that’s left is selecting a weekend and making a reservation with us at the Inn! We are in a prime location, with an easy drive to St. Michaels, Easton, and Oxford. Enjoy a day adventuring before unwinding in our Country Manor Home, Carriage House, or Cottage. Start planning your spring getaway today!

During our off-season from November to March, the Cottage and Carriage House will be available for rent with a 20% off discount to accommodate for a temporary absence of breakfast.
