Seriously, what’s not to love about fall!?! The autumn months bring unparalleled beauty to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, as the leaves begin to change and display the rich hues of the season. What’s more, the autumn chill arrives, bringing cozy sweaters, scarves, and boots along with it. Of course, we aren’t quite ready for winter yet, but that’s just another reason we love fall – the frigid winter temps are kept at bay, while the intense heat of summer finally breaks. It’s the best of both worlds, all wrapped up in a scarf and topped with a pumpkin spice latte and a slice of fresh apple pie.

Fall also means that we gravitate back to the fire, be it an outdoor bonfire or the cozy fireplace at the Inn. There is nothing quite as romantic as an autumn evening spent wandering the grounds, savoring a sunset, or sipping on a glass of wine or a warm cup of tea. During the day, the seasonal fall temperatures keep outdoor activities lively, with plenty of exploring to be had both at the Inn and in our nearby towns. Spend the day in Oxford, St. Michaels, Cambridge or Easton and enjoy a fantastic selection of shopping, dining, historical highlights, art galleries, outdoor adventures and more. The Eastern Shore is also host to a wide array of fall festival and events, from the Waterfowl Festival in Easton to the Oysterfest in St. Michaels.

In addition to romantic adventures in our area, fall is the perfect time of year to discover some of the fall flavors at our favorite local restaurants. Schooners on the Creek in Oxford, Ava’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar in St. Michaels, The High Spot in Cambridge, the Bartlett Pear Inn in Easton…the options are endless, ranging from casual to upscale fine dining. Just ask for a recommendation when you arrive and we’ll point you in the right direction!

Back at the Inn, we are romantics through and through, which is why we offer a number of romantically-inspired amenities and add-ons for our guests during their stay. Opt for a half a dozen chocolate covered strawberries, a couple’s aromatouch session, or a basket of homemade bath salts with a votive of candles. There’s also a fall picnic basket add-on to consider, which includes two types of cheese, grapes, seasonal fruits, water crackers, and four chocolates. Romance awaits you around every corner at the Combsberry Inn, start planning your romantic fall getaway today!

During our off-season from November to March, the Cottage and Carriage House will be available for rent with a 20% off discount to accommodate for a temporary absence of breakfast.
