While we may be tucked away on Bringman’s Cove and nestled amongst the natural beauty of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, we are also just a stone’s throw from the quaint, historic town of Oxford, Maryland. With a population of less than 1000 people, charming, tree-lined streets, and breathtaking water views, Oxford is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As one of the oldest towns in America, Oxford is a historic gem, most notably because the small town has maintained its historic charm by preserving their buildings instead of building condos and hotels. In case you can’t tell by now, we LOVE our beautiful town of Oxford, which is why we look forward to celebrating at Oxford Day each spring. The 22nd Annual Oxford Day will be held on Saturday, April 23, which means it’s time for you to make your plans to visit us and the Town of Oxford!
Oxford Day is comprised of a full day of family fun, with activities for all ages to enjoy, whether it’s taking in the Dog Show, exploring the Oxford Bellevue Ferry, or strolling through the town and enjoying the sights. The day kicks off with the Oxford Day Parade, which will run from 11am until 12pm. The parade will include bands, floats, various cars and trucks, walkers, and bagpipers. After the parade, enjoy the sounds of the U.S. Naval Academy Band, the Crabtowne Stompers! Of course there will be plenty of food to enjoy throughout the day, provided by various non-profit groups, the Oxford Market, and local restaurants. The Talbot County Humane Society is joining in the fun as well with a Dog Show and Dog Walk. Perhaps our favorite part is celebrating history with a ride on the Oxford Bellevue Ferry! The ferry will celebrate its 332nd birthday this year, making it one of the oldest privately operated ferry services.
As Oxford Day approaches, we encourage you to make your plans to stay with us at the Inn. We are just a short drive from town, offering you the perfect place to relax and unwind while enjoying a beautiful spring weekend in Oxford. History, small town charm, activities, and plenty of local flavor await you – make your reservations today and join us in Oxford, MD!
