What’s one of the best parts about being on the Eastern Shore of Maryland during the month of November? Simple, the annual Waterfowl Festival! A perfect blend of local culture, conservation efforts, and educational activities, the Waterfowl Festival includes four days of entertainment in Easton, MD. Located just a short drive from the Combsberry Inn, nearby Easton will be in full-on festival mode during the weekend of November 12-15, which means the time is now to book your stay and plan your trip.

What to Expect

Art Galleries, art events, conservation efforts, kid’s activities, sporting and hunting events, a wine and beer pavilion…need we say more?? The four-day event brings thousands of visitors each year, and for good reason as there is truly a little something for everyone to enjoy. Sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts will delight in the Sportsman’s Pavilion, which features everything from apparel to taxidermy. Art lovers will have access to a wide variety of mediums in the exhibits and local art studios, including at popular local art gallery, Art at the Armory. The Wine, Beer & Tasting Pavilion will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with an excellent selection of regional vintners, brewers and producers of gourmet items, including cheeses and sweets. Of course, what we really look forward to each year is the Dock Dogs Competition and the Retriever Demonstrations – the talent of these dogs never ceases to amaze!

Perhaps the best part of the whole event is the noteworthy fact that the Waterfowl Chesapeake is the primary beneficiary of the Waterfowl Festival, which uses the funds to support local conservation efforts.

Visiting Easton

The Waterfowl Festival also serves as the perfect opportunity to explore Easton, which boasts fantastic dining and shopping, incredibly friendly locals, and stunning scenery and architecture. With a population of just under 15,000 people, Easton maintains the perfect balance of small town life and metropolitan flair. Deeply rooted in rich history and overflowing with quality service and amenities, we love any excuse to take the short drive to Easton for a few hours, whether for dinner, shopping, arts, live music, or simply to stroll the picturesque streets. The historic  Avalon Theater, beautiful parks, charming downtown bars and restaurants, and an eclectic collection of retail shops are just a taste of what’s in store for you during your trip to Easton, all while enjoying the added bonus of the 45th Annual Waterfowl Festival.
