The Ironman Maryland begins with a 2.4-mile swim, followed by a 112-mile bike ride, and rounded out with a 26.2-mile run. The Eastern Shore of Maryland affords participants with the perfect conditions for a triathlon, taking competitors through the scenic beauty of Dorchester County. The 2.4-mile swim leads swimmers through the fresh water of the Choptank River; the 112-mile bike ride takes athletes through the peaceful countryside of Dorchester County and the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge; and the 26.2-mile run brings runners along flat country roads with numerous straightaways. Participants will enjoy the scenic beauty of our area while competing in a world-renowned race.
Race weekend requires a lot of rest and relaxation for participants, which is why so many attendees chose to book their stay with us at the Combsberry Inn for race weekend.
